LANGHORNE, PA – The Cairn Cross Country teams hosted teams from around the United East Conference for the United East Cross Country Championship. The action kicked off at 11 a.m. as the Women's 6K race began followed by the Men's 8K at noon.
For the Cairn Women's Cross Country team, freshman
Clarisse Hayden (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) once again made it to the podium, taking home a 2
nd place individual finish with a time of 25:13.7 on an average pace of 6:46. Sophomore
AyliGrace Munro (Bar Harbor, ME / Mount Desert Island HS) came in 4
th place clocking in at 26:52.5. Junior
Erin Wilson (Southampton, PA / Calvary Christian Academy) was the next finisher for Cairn, coming in 30
th with a time of 32:27.5. Sophomore
Morgan Steele (Bowie, MD / Estele Christian Academy) was close behind in 32
nd pace (32:55.9) followed by Senior
Jordan Harvey (Chichester, PA / The Christian Academy) in 37
th (33:49.1). Sophomore
Kate O'Brien (Lumberton, NJ / Trinity Preparatory) rounded out the Highlander runners in 40
th place finishing at 34:26.9. As a team, Cairn Women's Cross Country placed 3
rd overall out of 13 teams.
Cairn Men's Cross Country had freshman
Danny Kushay (Cinnaminson, NJ / Calvary Christian Academy) as their top finisher in 30
th place (33:00.4) followed by senior
Nicholas Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschool) in 31
st place only six seconds behind (33:06.8). Sophomore
Titus Dingle (Catonsville, MD / Chapelgate Christian Academy) was next in 37
th place (33:42.5) and junior
Avian Hall (Brooklyn, NY / Homechool) close behind in 44
th (34:42.5). Seniors
Andrew Higgins (North Hampton, NH / Jesse Remington High School) and
Taylor Heim (Levittown, PA / Homeschool) finished 5
th and 6
th among Highlander runners in 67
th and 76
th and were trailed by freshman
Aaron Frisch in 77
th. Junior
Caleb Vargas (Montgomery Village, MD / Watkins Mill) closed out the Highlander field in 89
th. As a team, the Cairn Men's Cross Country team placed 7
th.
Cairn Cross Country will compete next in the NCAA Regional meet on Saturday, November 11 at Rowan University.
