LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University men's tennis team won both matches by shutout margin in their home tri-match on Monday, sweeping Clarks Summit University, 9-0, before claiming a 9-0 triumph against Saint Elizabeth University later that evening.

Brad Garges (Perkasie, PA / Pennridge) and freshman
Michael Wilson (New Hope, PA / New Hope Solebury) won both their No. 1 doubles matches on the day, claiming an 8-4 win against Clarks Summit (0-8) before earning an 8-0 shutout against Saint Elizabeth (1-9) in the nightcap. Senior
Jake Edwards (Delta, PA / Harford Christian) and freshman
Joel Kim (Harrington Park, NJ / Black Forest Academy) scored two 8-1 victories on the day, while senior
Ismael Santana (Danbury, CT / Danbury) and junior
Joel Cassel (Glenside, PA / Calvary Christian) won 8-2 against the Defenders, before winning by default against the Eagles.
Garges claimed two victories at No. 1 singles on the day, first scoring a 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 tiebreaker win against Summit before earning a 6-3, 6-3 decision against SEU. Wilson dispatched both of his opponents at No. 2 singles (6-4, 6-2; 6-2, 6-2), while Edwards won 6-3, 6-4 and 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 3 position. Kim posted back-to-back 6-3, 6-3 triumphs on the day and Santana earned matching 6-3, 6-2 W's. Cassel rounded out the day with a 6-3, 6-2 win against Summit before winning by default against Saint Elizabeth.
The Highlanders will be back on the court on Wednesday April 27 when they compete in their final match of the season at home against Lancaster Bible College for Senior Day starting at 3:30 p.m.
