LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University men's tennis team wrapped up their 2021-22 season at home against non-conference foe Lancaster Bible College on Senior Day Wednesday afternoon, falling by a score of 8-1 to the Chargers.
Before the match, the Highlanders honored their three seniors,
Brad Garges (Perkasie, PA / Pennridge),
Jake Edwards (Delta, PA / Harford Christian) and
Ismael Santana (Danbury, CT / Danbury) for all their contributions to the team over the years. Garges finished the season with a 7-7 record at No. 1 singles and finished his career as the most distinguished player in the history of the program, competing solely at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for his entire career. Edwards concludes his senior campaign with a 9-4 record, while Santana finished 6-3 on the season in singles bouts. Freshman
Michael Wilson (New Hope, PA / New Hope Solebury) collected the lone victory for the Highlanders on the day, besting his opponent in the No. 2 singles slot by a score of 6-2, 6-2.
The Highlanders finished the season with an overall record of 8-7, their first full season with a plus-.500 record, winning four of their last five matches to round out the campaign.
