MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Cairn University men's tennis team won, 6-3, on the road at Saint Elizabeth University on Monday, marking their second-straight victory.
Cairn (6-6) posted victories in six of the eight matches it was involved in, led by senior
Brad Garges (Perkasie, PA / Pennridge) and freshman
Joel Kim (Harrington Park, PA / Black Forest Academy) with an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while seniors
Jake Edwards (Delta, PA / Harford Christian) and
Ismael Santana (Danbury, CT / Danbury) snagged an 8-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles.
Garges got the Highlanders started on the right foot in singles bouts with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, while freshman
Joel Kim (Harrington Park, NJ / Black Forest Academy) earned a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 3 slot. Santana grabbed a 6-1, 6-1 win at in the No. 4 slot, while junior
Joel Cassel (Glenside, PA / Calvary Christian) rounded out the day by besting his opponent, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
The Highlanders will be back on the court on Monday, April 25 when they return home to the McCurdy Facility for their Senior Day tri-match against Clarks Summit University and Saint Elizabeth starting at 2 p.m.
