GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Cairn University men's tennis team won, 5-2, at non-conference adversary Gwynedd Mercy University on Monday evening.
Cairn (4-5) won both of the doubles matches against Gwynedd (0-3) as senior
Brad Garges (Perkasie, PA / Pennridge) and freshman
Joel Kim (Harrington Park, NJ / Black Forest Academy) paired together to snag a victory at No. 1 doubles (8-1), while seniors
Jake Edwards (Delta, PA / Harford Christian) and
Ismael Santana (Danbury, CT / Danbury) collected an 8-6 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
Garges got the Highlanders off on the right foot in singles competition, claiming a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, while Edwards strutted to a 6-3, 6-0 win in the No. 2 slot. Santana rounded out the Highlanders victories on the day with a win by default.
The Highlanders will be back on the court on Saturday, March 26 when they travel to Penn State Abington for a non-conference contest at 1 p.m.
