ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The No. 4 seed Cairn University women's soccer team saw its 2022 season come to a close in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinals at top-seeded Cedar Crest College by a score of 5-0 on Wednesday evening.
The top-seeded Falcons (12-3-2) jumped on the score sheet early with a goal in the 10
th minute, and scored just one minute later to collect a 2-0 advantage. Cedar Crest added another tally in the 21
st minute and took a 3-0 lead into intermission. The Falcons posted two more goals in the second half to advance to the conference championship game.
Cairn recorded five shots in the contest, four of which came from junior
Teresa Lee (Jackson, NJ / Calvary Academy). Sophomore net minder
Isabelle Lazor (Midland Park, NJ / Eastern Christian) corralled a match-high eight saves between the pipes in a complete game effort.
The Highlanders conclude the 2022 campaign with 11 total wins, and posted a 9-1-1 record at home in their first year playing inside the G. Patrick Stillman Athletic Complex. Cairn advanced to the conference semifinal match for the fourth-straight season.
