LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University women's cross country team competed in their final meet of the season, hosting the Cairn 4K Challenge in a dual meet with Chestnut Hill College Langhorne on Monday evening.
Chestnut Hill won the dual meet, placing seven of the top-eight finishers in the event. However, freshman
AyliGrace Munro (Bar Harbor, ME / Mount Desert Island HS) claimed her second career medalist honor, topping the 13-runner field with a 4K time of 17:49. Munro was followed by senior
Isabella Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled), who earned a ninth-place mark of 21:17. Junior
Jordan Harvey (Chichester, PA / The Christian Academy) crossed next for Cairn in the 10
th slating with a time of 21:17.6, just .4 seconds behind Palladino, while classmate
Hannah Franchois (Fort Washington, PA / Phil-Mont Christian Academy) posted a mark of 24:21 to place 11
th. Junior
Amber Farrell (Philadelphia, PA / Franklin Towne Charter) earned a 12
th-place finish with a time of 25:42, while junior
Kaiya Smith (Souderton, PA / Souderton Area) rounded out the day for Cairn with a time of 26:46 to finish in 13
th place.
With this meet, the women's and men's cross country teams saw their successful campaigns come to a close. The women's season was highlighted by a second-place finish at the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship meet, while the men earned a third-place finish in that same meet.
