LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University women's soccer team shutout Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent the University of Valley Forge by a score of 10-0 at home on Saturday afternoon.

"It was great hosting them and we had a beautiful day to play. We were able to get all of our team on the field at various points and explored a few different formations. I'm happy with our performance Saturday and it's good to be able to get another conference victory. Our communication on the field is improving and it shows in our play."
Cairn (9-5-1, 4-2 CSAC) wasted no time generating offense against Valley Forge (0-11, 0-7 CSAC), scoring five times within the first 15 minutes of play to take a commanding 5-0 lead. Cairn added four more tallies throughout the first 45 minutes and boasted a 9-0 lead heading into intermission. The Highlanders added one more goal in the second half of play to cap off the impressive offensive showing.
Junior
Micaela Prate (Huntingdon Valley, PA / Calvary Christian Academy) led the offensive output with her first career two-goal game to go along with a pair of assists.
Classmate
Em Kuansongtham (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) matched Prate with a pair of goals and one assist. Five other Highlanders recorded multiple assists in the contest, senior

Johanna Shaw (Melrose Park, PA / Phil-Mont Christian) and
Hannah Franchois (Fort Washington, PA / Phil-Mont Christian) and sophomore
Julia Bruestle (Abington, PA / Abington HS). Marzinke and Shaw each added a tally, while fifth-year
Victoria Ruitto (Ellington, CT / The Cornerstone Christian School) and juniors
Grace Miller (Chapel Hill, NC / Central Bucks West) and
Teresa Lee (Jackson, NJ / Calvary Academy) each notched a goal and an assist. Freshman
Emilee Hess (Alburtis, PA / Salem Christian) recorded the other goal of the contest for Cairn. Sophomore goalkeepers
Isabelle Lazor (Midland Park, NJ / Eastern Christian) and
Jianna Fjording (Copenhagen, Denmark / International Community School) each pitched in 45 minutes a-piece between the pipes to combine for the shutout.
The Highlanders will be back on the pitch on Saturday, October 22 when they make the trip to Chambersburg to take on perennial CSAC foe Wilson College at 1 p.m.
