Men’s Soccer: Highlanders Battle to Scoreless Draw at Saint Elizabeth

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Cairn University men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 scoreless draw in their Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest on the road at Saint Elizabeth University on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams engaged in a tight, defensive-centric contest from the get-go, with neither team getting on the score sheet through the first 45 minutes. Sophomore Jesse Brittain (Chester, PA / The Christian Academy) generated Cairn's (5-5-4, 1-0-2 CSAC) lone shot on goal in the first half, a mark matched by Saint Elizabeth (7-4-2, 2-0-1 CSAC). The Highlanders produced two quality looks after sophomore Moses Beers (Lancaster, PA / Manheim Township) fired two shots on target in the first ten minutes of the second half, but neither attempt found the net. Cairn got two more chances late in the contest, but the Eagles turned both efforts aside.

Cairn out shot SEU in the contest (12-9) and produced more shots on goal (5-2). The Highlanders also bested the Eagles in corner kick opportunities (6-3). Beers and Brittain led the offensive output with three shots a-piece, while fifth-year net minder Kameron Clark (Ewing, NJ / Ewing) posted two saves to keep the Eagles off the score sheet.

The Highlanders will be back on the pitch on Wednesday, October 19 when they return home to welcome conference adversary Wilson College to Langhorne for a CSAC tilt inside the Stillman Complex at 3:30 p.m.
