LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University men's and women's cross country teams hosted the annual Cairn 4K meet on Friday afternoon on the Presidents' Field.
For the women, the Highlanders were paced by freshman
Emily Petty (Fort Mill, SC / Northstar Academy) who placed 8
th in the 19-runner field with a time of 20:37. Petty was closely followed by senior teammates
Aubrey Eshelman (Lancaster, PA / Lancaster County Christian) and
Isabella Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled) who crossed the line in times of 21:05 and 21:17 to finish ninth and tenth, respectively. Sophomore
Jeneba Koroma (Sharon Hill, PA / Christ Academy) finished one spot behind Palladino with a time of 22:46, while junior
Madeline Chase (Apalachin, NY / Ross Corners Christian Academy) rounded out the top-five finishers for Cairn with a time of 24:08.
For the men, Cairn was led by freshman
Nicholas Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled), who crossed first for the Highlanders with a time of 15:40 to finish 10
th in the 36-runner field. Crossing next for Cairn were sophomore
Joseph Keeports (York, PA / Central York HS) and senior
Brian Jennings (Germantown, PA / Springside Chestnut Hill Academy), who finished with times of 17:23 (17
th place) and 17:31 (18
th place), respectively. Cairn also claimed the next two spots on the leaderboard, as senior
Chris Potts (Northeast Philadelphia, PA / Calvary Christian Academy) and junior
Tim Colgan finished in 19
th (18:04) and 20
th (18:16) place to round out the top-five Cairn runners.
The women's and men's cross country teams will be back on the course on Saturday, September 11 when they travel into the city to compete in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Meet hosted by Jefferson University.
