DUNMORE, Pa. – The Cairn University men's tennis team won their second-straight contest against non-conference foe Marywood University by a score of 6-3 on the road on Monday.
Cairn (2-1) won two of the three doubles matches, as senior
Brad Garges (Perkasie, PA / Pennridge) and freshman
Michael Wilson paired together to earn an 8-4 triumph at No. 1 doubles, pushing the duo to 3-0 on the season. The Highlanders also earned a win over Marywood (0-2) by default at No. 3 doubles.
Cairn also topped the Pacers in four of the six singles bouts, paced by junior
Max Bruestle (Abington, PA / Abington Friends School) with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles and sophomore
Jake Edwards (Delta, PA / Harford Christian) with a 6-4, 6-1 victory in the No. 4 spot. Freshman
Joel Kim also won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 singles while the Highlanders won in the No. 6 slot by default.
The Highlanders will be back on the court on Wednesday, September 29 when it travels to King's College for a non-conference contest at 3 p.m.
