RESULTS
SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cairn University men's and women's cross country teams traveled to the McDade Park to compete in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Preview Meet on Saturday. The CSAC Championships will be held at McDade Park later this season.
Both teams finished in third place out of five that were eligible for the team scoring. For the women, the Highlanders were once again led by freshman
Emily Petty (Fort Mill, SC / Northstar Academy) who placed 14
th in the 40-runner field with a 6K time of 34:37. Crossing next for the Highlanders was senior
Aubrey Eshelman (Lancaster, PA / Lancaster County Christian) who finished the course in 36:10, good enough for 20
th place. Senior
Isabella Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled) followed closely behind Eshelman, crossing the finish line in 37:52 to finish in 22
nd position. Junior
Madeline Chase (Apalachin, NY / Ross Corners Chrsitian Academy) earned a top-25 finish with a time of 41:31, good enough for 25
th place.
For the men, Cairn was paced by reigning CSAC Runner of the Week freshman
Nicholas Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled), who crossed first for the Highlanders with an 8K time of 35:57 to finish 10
th in the 41-runner field. Crossing next for the Highlanders was sophomore
Joseph Keeports (York, PA / Central York HS) with a time of 38:05 to place 16
th, while senior
Brian Jennings (Germantown, PA / Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) was right behind with a 20
th place finish of 41:43. Cairn freshman
Jonathan Haresnape finished right behind Jennings with a time of 42:07 to place 21
st in his first meet.
The women's and men's cross country teams will be back on the course next Saturday, September 25 when they travel to Penn State Abington to take part in their Fall Invitational at 9 a.m.
