DOVER, Del. – The Cairn University men's basketball team lost, 80-41, on the road at NCAA Division I foe Delaware State University in an exhibition contest for the Highlanders in their second game of a back-to-back road swing on Tuesday evening.
Delaware State (1-0) playing out of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), jetted out to an 8-0 lead before Cairn (1-0) broke its dry spell with a basket from junior

In the second half, the Highlanders got the deficit within 20 when junior Dashuan Cain (Wilmington, DE / Red Lion Christian Academy) converted a layup at the 11:56 mark of the half to make it 52-32. However, the Hornets settled into their half-court offense and ran down the clock to seal the victory.
