CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Cairn University women's basketball team lost, 67-49 at Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Clarks Summit University on the road on Tuesday evening.
Cairn (3-4, 1-2 CSAC) got off the a good start against Clarks Summit (5-1, 2-0 CSAC), claiming a 15-14 lead at the end of the first quarter after freshman
Tamia Warner (Ewing, NJ / Ewing) converted a layup to end the period. The Defenders responded with a dominant second frame, outscoring the Highlanders 20-8 in the period and Summit took a 34-25 lead into intermission. The Highlanders hung around in the third stanza, but the deficit was too large to overcome.
Cairn shot 29.1% (16-55) from the field in the contest and was 68.2% (15-22) from the charity stripe Cairn forced 27 Falcon turnovers in the contest, scoring 30 points off those turnovers. The Highlanders also dished out nine assists as a team and pocketed 11 total steals.

Dakota Hitchner (Ocean City, NJ / Atlantic Christian) with a game-high 22 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds and three steals. Warner followed with nine points off the bench to go along with four boards. Classmate
Taylor Hinson (Carney's Point, NJ / Collingswood HS) matched Hitchner with eight rebounds and grabbed a game-high four steals.
Cairn will be back on the court on Thursday, December 2 when it continues CSAC play at home against Bryn Athyn College for its annual Christmas themed game at 6 p.m.
