Women’s Basketball: Highlanders Drop Non-Conference Bout at Home to Cyclones

LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University women's basketball team lost, 76-57 at home against non-conference foe Centenary University (NJ) on Saturday.

Centenary (6-2) got out to a quick 10-3 lead over Cairn (3-5) in the first period and had a 17-12 lead after one. The Cyclones outscored the Highlanders 19-11 in the second stanza and took a 36-23 lead into intermission. The Highlanders responded in the third quarter burst, getting the Cyclones lead within single digits after senior Korin Bradley (Levittown, PA / Bucks County Community College) knocked down a jumper to cut the deficit to 40-31 at the 7:11 mark. However, that would be the closest the Highlanders would get, as the Cyclones closed the quarter on a 14-7 run and finished out the fourth en route to victory.

Cairn was led offensively by senior Dakota Hitchner (Ocean City, NJ / Atlantic Christian) who tied a game-high with 22 points, while her seven rebounds tied a team-high. Freshman Tamia Warner (Ewing, NJ / Ewing) followed with 13 points off the bench, including five rebounds, two blocks and two assists. Bradley matched Hitchner with a team-high seven rebounds and tied a season-high with 10 points.
