LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The Cairn University men's and women's cross country teams concluded their respective seasons at the NCAA Division III Metro Regional Championships, hosted by Rowan University at Dream Park on Saturday afternoon. The women finished in 23
rd place, while the men garnered a 21
st-place finish in the highly-competitive field.
For the women, the Highlanders were paced by freshman
Emily Petty (Fort Mill, SC / Northstar Academy) who concluded her tremendous freshman campaign with a 108
th-place finish in the field of 156 runners with a 6K time of 27:00. Petty was followed by senior
Aubrey Eshelman (Lancaster, PA / Lancaster County Christian) who cross the finish line in 136
th place with a time of 29:52. Finishing next for Cairn was sophomore
Jeneba Koroma (Sharon Hill, PA / Christ Academy) who placed 140
th with a time of 31:05, while freshman
Carina Russell crossed with a time of 31:28 to finish 142
nd. Senior
Isabella Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled) rounded out the top-five finishers for Cairn with a time of 32:22 to place 145
th.
For the men, Cairn was paced by freshman
Nicholas Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled), who capped off his freshman year with an 8K time of 30:53. Junior
Tim Colgan followed with a time of 35:21 to finish 130
th. Crossing next for Cairn was senior
Weston Colon (Fords, NJ / Woodbridge) with a time of 36:14 to finish 132
nd, while sophomore
Joseph Keeports (York, PA / Central York) earned a time of 36:16 to finish in 133
rd place. Seniors
Brian Jennings (Germantown, PA / Springside Chestnut Hill Academy),
Weston Hamilton (Newtown, PA / Plumstead Christian) and
Chris Potts (Northeast Philadelphia, PA / Calvary Christian Academy) each tied for 153
rd place with matching times of 38:46.
