Men’s Soccer: Highlanders Top Wilson in Regular Season Finale, Will Meet Keystone in CSAC Semifinals

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.  – The Cairn University men's soccer team won by a shutout score of 2-0 on the road at Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Wilson College in their regular season finale on Wednesday. With the win, the Highlanders secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament and will travel to No. 2 Keystone College in the CSAC Semifinals next week.
 
Cairn (10-3-2, 5-1-1 CSAC) jumped on top of Wilson (2-10-1, 2-4-1 CSAC) when freshman standout Jesse Brittain (Chester, PA / The Christian Academy) scored off of a feed from junior David Falcon (Wayne, NJ / Hawthorne Christian) in the 18th minute to give Cairn a 1-0 lead. The Highlanders outshot the Phoenix 7-0 in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the break. In the second half, Cairn got an insurance goal in the 86th minute after drawing a foul inside the box, which granted Brittain a penalty kick that he promptly buried for his 16th goal of the season (second-most in CSAC).
 
The Cairn backline blanked the Keystone defense, allowing zero shots on goal in the contest compared to 16 (eight on goal) for the Highlanders. Senior goalkeeper Kameron Clark (Ewing, NJ / Ewing) earned his ninth win of the season, earning the complete game shutout (third shutout of season.
 
As mentioned, the Highlanders earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament and will travel to No. 2 Keystone College on Wednesday, November 3 for the CSAC Semifinals. Kickoff is TBA.
