BRYN MAWR, PA- The Highlanders came a couple bounces away from beating Rosemont in a spirited contest last night.
Â
Cairn started off hot with
Dakota Hitchner,
Charlotte Allen, and
Victoria Stum leading the Highlanders to a 17-7 lead in the first quarter. The Ravens fought back in the second, but a jumper from
Melissa Good and late free throws from Hitchner kept Cairn ahead going into the break. The Ravens continued their momentum into the third quarter, building a six point lead that climbed as high as eight early in the fourth. A three and layup from Hitchner kept the Highlanders alive but Cairn was unable to get over the hump and fell to the Ravens 58-51.
Â
Hitchner had a monster performance for the Highlanders, finishing with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists. The Highlanders will host Cedar Crest College at 1:00 PM this weekend in their Senior Day matchup where they will honor the careers of
Victoria Stum and
Charlotte Allen in a pregame ceremony.
