BRYN ATHYN, PA- The Highlanders put it all together Wednesday night, playing a complete game and outlasting Bryn Athyn for their first CSAC victory of the 2019 season.
 
Bryn Athyn took the lead off the tap, but a five point run from Melissa Good put the Highlanders on top, 5-4. A jumper from Markie Watson and layup by Kyrstin Jarvis kept the Highlanders ahead at the end of the first quarter. The Lions mounted a 6-point run to take the lead as the first half wound down but a three from Jenna Krage two free throws from Dakota Hitchner brought the Highlanders back within one point as the opening period ended. Krage and Good started the second half on fire, trading three pointers and pushing the Highlanders ahead by 7 points. The Lions fought back, but another three from Hitchner kept Cairn on top. As the game wound down, Bryn Athyn held a slim two-point lead before Hitchner nailed a three to put Cairn on top. After a foul and free throw, the Lions tied the game back up with 40 seconds on the clock. The Highlanders wound down the last possession, searching for an opening that Charlotte Allen found with a game-winning jumper. Melissa Good sealed the deal with a free throw and the Highlanders officially took home the win.
 
Hitchner led with 14 points, Good tallied 11, and Tori Stum, despite a midgame injury, came one point away from a double-double with 9 points and 12 rebounds in only 25 minutes of action. The Highlanders will host Centenary University at 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon in search of their second CSAC victory.
