LANGHORNE, PA- Cairn hosted Centenary University Saturday afternoon in a CSAC matchup. The Highlanders played a stellar first half, before a second half shooting slump gave Centenary the victory.
Both teams traded baskets in the first quarter, with Cairn playing swarming defense and shutting down the Cyclones offense.
Dakota Hitchner and
Charlotte Allen started the second quarter with layups before three straight points from Tori Stum gave the Highlanders the lead. Five straight points for Hitchner pushed the Highlanders ahead by 7 points as the first half ended. The Highlanders battled hard in the second half but could not contend with Centenary's imposing interior presence. Hitchner led the Highlanders with 20 points and
Victoria Stum tallied 7 points and 8 rebounds.
The Highlanders will host Clarks Summit University at 6:00 PM Wednesday night in another CSAC contest.
