LANGHORNE, PA- Coming into their final regular season series of the season, Cairn baseball knew exactly where they stood. Needing two wins in their final three games against Centenary, the Highlanders swept the Cyclones, riding out the regular season in style and securing a home playoff contest against Wilson College this Wednesday.

Nat Ross dominated game one for the Highlanders on Friday night. The talented sophomore harnessed his best stuff, pitching a complete game one hitter and completely shutting down the Cyclones offense. Mike Sorowice broke out on the offensive end, mashing a pair of two run homeruns in the second and fourth innings to spring the Highlanders to their thirteen run win.

Heading home for the final two games, the Highlanders honored the stellar careers of eight absolutely pivotal seniors in Cairn baseball's resurgence. Seniors

Emilio Alvarez,
Brett Marks,
Eric Stinglen, and
Daniel Bierc were celebrated with their families prior to the night's first pitch. In a day of many events, the Highlanders also welcomed the parents of Logan Hall, a 2018 recruit who unexpectedly passed away last year, to throw out the first pitch. Logan's legacy, worn on their helmets and carried out in major ways by Cairn Highlander
Adam Juarez, has inspired the Highlanders to put God first, while playing with endless joy and passion this season.

The Highlanders secured their place in the CSAC playoffs with a huge victory in game one.
Emilio Alvarez burst the game open with a 2 RBI triple down the right field line to put the Highlanders ahead 2-0. Centenary bounced back with 3 runs, but the Highlanders took control with a four run second inning thanks to a bases loaded single from
Alejandro Fernandez.
Albert Taylor pitched a workmanlike 5 innings and
Daniel Morales shut the door with a 6 out save to send the Highlanders to the playoffs for the first time in Cairn history.

With a playoff spot secured the Highlanders played loose in game two, taking a 4-0 lead in the second inning. The Cyclones battled back to tie the game in the top of the 7
th, but
Trey Valiton came through in a major way, knocking Jonathan Thiero home with a walkoff single and giving Cairn their fifth straight win.

The Highlanders will host Wilson College in their first ever CSAC playoff game Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
