LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders hosted ]Gwynedd Mercy University Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup. After two straight wins, the Highlanders streak was ended after a tight match against the Griffins.

The Highlanders have dominated doubles play through the early stretch of the season and played incredibly close with the Griffins high-powered squad.
Kara Williams and
Charlotte Allen earned Cairn's first point of the afternoon with a commanding 8-5 victory in the #3 doubles spot. The teams of
Maya Neal and
Allyssa Peters and
Bianca Birney and
Lauren Griffith battled hard, each notching four games but dropping the next two doubles matches.
Ellie Santos picked up the Highlanders first singles point of the day in the #6 spot, handily defeating her opponent 8-3.
Lauren Griffith nearly notched another point, coming within two games of the win but faltering down the stretch. First year player
Bethany Horning picked up a huge 8-6 win in an exhibition match to close out the day for Cairn. The Highlanders came close in a number of matches, but dropped the match 7-2 to Gwynedd Mercy.

The Highlanders will be back in action Monday night when they travel to Neumann University for a match beginning at 5:00 PM.
