LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders hosted Wilson College in non-conference play Saturday afternoon. Cairn played the Phoenix tough, but fell in four tightly-contested sets, dropping to 1-4 on the season.
Â
The Highlanders dominated offensively, tallying 48 kills to Wilson's 38, 41 assists to 36, and 57 digs to 51. Unfortunately, the Highlanders powerful swings worked against them at times, as they also notched 29 errors to only 16 from the Phoenix. Wilson's conservative play worked for them and they were able to sneak away with the win.
Â
Juston Wolgemuth played an excellent match for the Highlanders with 13 kills and only 5 errors, while
Ryan Ludvik dished out 38 assists and tallied 16 digs as well.
Â
While the Highlanders have played a bit uneven over the first couple weeks, they seem to have begun putting the pieces together. Cairn will have the chance for three CVC victories as they take on Neumann University, Marymount University, and Randolph-Macon College.
