LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders dropped a non-conference match 3-0 to Lancaster Bible College earlier this week.
Â
The Highlanders battled hard against the Chargers, but unfortunately were unable to keep up with the #12 team in the nation and their powerful attack. Cairn nearly extended the match in the third set, as
Dave Cassel,
Anton Deleon, and
Scott Bassill each carded a couple kills to spur the Highlanders on a 7-1 run in the middle of the set. A kill from
Ben Norton and ace from
Collin Benjamin brought Cairn within two points, 20-18, but the Chargers held onto their lead and closed the match out.
Â
The Highlanders have a lengthy stretch away from home as they travel to Widener University this Thursday, and to Virginia over the weekend to take on Eastern Mennonite University and Southern Virginia University.
