CHAMBERSBURG, PA- The Highlanders outlasted the Wilson Phoenix Saturday afternoon, winning 69-62 and clinching a home playoff game Monday night at 7:00 PM.

Knowing they were in need of a win, the Highlanders played one of their finest games of the season by overcoming an 8 point halftime deficit to split the season series with Wilson. Cairn trailed 15-9 midway through the first quarter, but 7 straight points from
Payton Emerick and a jumper from
Melissa Good gave the Highlanders a 3 point lead at the end of the first quarter. Unfortunately, the Highlanders offense went dry in the second quarter and they only managed 3 field goals the entire quarter.

The Highlanders showed incredible resilience, bouncing back in a major way in the third quarter.
Dakota Hitchner found her form, slashing to the rim and knocking down a number of layups and free throws to give the Highlanders a 22-12 advantage in the third. With momentum on their side, the Highlanders rolled through the fourth quarter and notched their 9
th CSAC win of the season.

The Highlanders will host Centenary University tomorrow night at 7:00 PM in the quarterfinals of the CSAC playoffs. The Highlanders defeated the Cyclones twice this season, playing a tight 61-56 battle away at Centenary and using the home field advantage of the 'Horne to win 75-49 later in the season.
