LANGHORNE, PA – After clinching a playoff berth earlier this week, the Highlanders welcomed the CSAC's top-ranked Rosemont Ravens to the Mason Activity Center Saturday afternoon.
The Ravens staked their claim to the lead early on with a fast-paced, relentless offensive attack. The Highlanders scrapped on the defensive end, but simply could not get all of the gears clicking offensively and trailed 48-26 at the half.
With a potential playoff showdown with the Ravens looming, the Highlanders never relented, coming out with a firm resolve and chipping away at the Rosemont lead. Cutting down on turnovers and hustling back on defense, the Highlanders outscored Rosemont in both the third and fourth quarters and won the second half by a two point margin. Cairn was led by
Kendra Stum with 14 points and 9 rebounds, while sharpshooting sophomore
Jenna Krage tallied 12 points.
With only two regular season games remaining, Cairn will travel to La Plume to take on the Keystone Giants Wednesday night at 6:00PM, before taking the long trip to Wilson College for a 1:00 PM game on Saturday.
