LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders hosted Keystone College in the CSAC semifinal Saturday afternoon. After a spirited contest between two highly-talented teams, the Highlanders season was brought to an end one game from the championship for the second straight season.
 
Brandon Hasko opened the semifinal in excellent fashion for the Highlanders. The recent second team All-CSAC selection danced past the defense, blasting a shot off the bottom of the crossbar and into the back of the net. The Highlanders stayed ahead for nearly the entirety of the half until surrendering two late goals in the 42^nd and 44^th minutes. Keystone used their size as CB Andrew Lupinacci and Forward Daniel Zuniga bullied their way to loose balls, collected two ricochets and fired past Cairn's keeper Kameron Clark. The Highlanders threatened in the second half as Brett Kikendall and Josiah Nistorenko each had chances that flew just above the crossbar. Unfortunately, Keystone extinguished all hopes of a comeback with an insurance goal in the 80^th minute.
 
The Highlanders played their second truly stellar season in a row, placing 2^nd overall in the regular season rankings, placing five Highlanders on the CSAC First Team (Brett Kikendall, Ryan Leatherman, Kameron Clark, Josh Goodyear, Josiah Nistorenko), two on the Second Team (Brandon Hasko, Hunter Martinez), and one on the Honorable Mention team (Keith Fisher). Additionally, Kameron Clark was awarded as the CSAC's Defensive Player of the Year for his consistently excellent play in the net. The CSAC's reigning Rookie of the Year, Clark finished with 6 shutouts to rank 3^rd all-time in the Cairn record books. Last but not least, the Highlanders were awarded with the 3D Award, given annually to the team in each sport that best demonstrates the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The Highlanders have now won the award four times (2011, 2012, 2015, 2019).
