BROOKLYN, NY- The Highlanders won their first game of the season in style Tuesday night, building an early lead and soundly defeating the Medgar Evers Cougars.

Cairn jumped out to an early 9-0 lead as
Jeremiah Harris broke out of an early season slump, canning two threes and giving the Highlanders a lead they would never relinquish. Harris,
Eric Jacobs (3-4 from three), and
Malachi Hall (perfect 6-6 from the field) set the tone for the Highlanders in an incredible first half. The Highlanders scored 59 points on 59.5% shooting and notched 17 assists in a truly excellent offensive display. After building up a huge lead, the Highlanders coasted for the rest of the game, stretching the lead to as much as 30 and picking apart the Cougars' zone.

Jacobs finished with 15 points, Harris notched 13 points 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, Hall came one assist short of a double-double with 13 points and 9 assists, and
Julian Collazo chipped in a across the board with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists.

The Highlanders will travel to play Washington College (MD) on Thursday before hosting PSU-Berks at 6:00 PM Saturday night.
