Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Highlanders Clinch CSAC Playoff Spot

The Highlanders played twice last week, dropping their first CSAC matchup of the season to Centenary University but bouncing back with a huge win over Rosemont 2-1.

The Highlanders simply did not play their best soccer against Centenary. Cairn garnered a number of excellent chances, but it was not their day and the Highlanders could not find the final touch to beat Centenary's keeper.

In a must-win game against the Ravens, the Highlanders played up to their potential. While missing two of their most pivotal players in center backs, Jared Lanchak and Ryan Leatherman, Kameron Clark stepped up to calm the Cairn defense. Clark made 5 saves in the first half, holding the fort down until Brett Kikendall found his footing in the second. The senior captain was a problem all over the pitch, firing 5 shots and scoring two goals only 10 minutes apart from each other. Kikendall's goals gave the Highlanders enough of a cushion to skate past Rosemont for the 2-1 victory and clinch their spot in the upcoming CSAC playoffs.

Cairn will host Wilson College in their final home game of the season Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday's contest will also mark Senior Day where they will honor their seniors in a pregame ceremony.
