ROSEMONT, PA- The Highlanders found their form Saturday afternoon. Cairn played excellent volleyball to grind out two big wins over Rosemont College and Bryn Mawr College.

The Highlanders showed incredible grit in their first match of the day against their host Rosemont. Each set went down to the wire as the Highlanders squeaked out a 25-21 win in the first set, narrowly fell in the second set 25-23, before bouncing back with 25-21 wins in the next two sets. Cairn relied on their defense as seniors
Brie Norton and
Liz White finished with 21 and 16 digs to lead the Highlanders. On the offensive end,
Lyntia Gwess and
Allison Barnes came through for the Highlanders with 13 and 12 kills to lead the team.

Cairn took the momentum of their opening win to the match against Bryn Mawr. The Highlanders took care of the Owls in three sets, winning 25-16, 26-24, and 25-11. The Highlanders notched 49 points to only 27 for Bryn Mawr, 34 kills to 20, 13 service aces to 7, and 32 assists to 19 for the Owls. Gwess led the Highlanders with 14 kills, Barnes notched 6 service aces,
Tasaday Pouncy and
Nikki Schlegel each finished with 2 service aces, and
Liz White picked up 26 assists.

The Highlanders will finish out their season next Saturday at 11:00 AM against Bryn Athyn College.
