ROSEMONT, PA- The Highlanders resident overtime warriors Cairn Women's Soccer won their fourth straight game, outlasting the Rosemont Ravens and winning on freshman
Teresa Lee's goal in the second period of extra time.
The Highlanders dominated on both ends, shutting down the Ravens throughout 90 minutes but proving unable to find the back of the net despite 13 shots. No strangers to extra time, the Highlanders found their footing in the first extra period with three shots to test the Ravens keeper. Just 32 seconds into the second overtime period,
Sara Hayduchok skillfully wove her way through the Rosemont defense, firing a shot that was deflected to the feet of
Teresa Lee who finished her second goal of the season with ease to give the Highlanders their fourth straight win.
Cairn has been on a tear as of late, with keeper
Kyrstin Jarvis and a talented back line of
Leah Kochersperger, Tori Ruitto,
Sierra Kiekel, and
Ellen Beck allowing only one goal in their last seven games. Look for the Highlanders offense to take off and boost Cairn as they begin a long stretch of CSAC play!
