LANGHORNE, PA- Cairn kept their spot atop the CSAC rankings with a 72-51 victory over the Clarks Summit University Defenders on Thursday night.
Â
The Highlanders scored the game's first 7 points but free throw shooting woes allowed the Defenders to hang around. Fortunately, Cairn played stellar defense limiting the Defenders to just 36% from the field and 0-7 from beyond the arc. The Highlanders were led by
Jeremiah Harris in the first half, as the junior showed excellent touch around the rim by finishing various floaters and step back jumpers.
Â
Cairn found their footing in the second half, stretching their lead to 15 points when
Julian Collazo snared an offensive rebound and finished a putback layup.Â
Jesse Rivera snagged another second chance basket and
Eric Jacobs knocked down a three to give Cairn their largest lead of the afternoon. Ty Carrier splashed home a three and turnaround jumper down the stretch to ice the game and put the official cap on the Highlanders fourth CSAC win.
Â
Cairn will take on Bryn Athyn College this weekend, hosting the Lions at 3:00 PM in search of another CSAC victory.
