LANCASTER, PA – The Highlanders traveled to Lancaster Bible College and dropped a heated match against the Chargers.

The first set was an absolute dog fight, as the deficit did not break two points until the Highlanders went up 14-11 late in the set thanks to a couple of kills from Tia Gwess. The Chargers secured the first set with a three point run to take it 25-23. Gwess led the Highlanders by collecting seven kills in the first set.
Cairn stepped it up in the second set with three straight to start. The score bounced back and forth as both teams scrapped for every point. Haley Sheehan led the offense as Cairn battled for the lead. LBC was up 22-17 when they coughed up four errors, and a kill from Brie Norton evened the score at 22-22. However, three kills from LBC sealed the second set with another 25-23 win for the Chargers.

After two heart-breaking defeats in the first two sets, Lancaster Bible controlled the third set and pulled off the sweep over the Highlanders. Tia Gwess and Haley Sheehan led the offense with 11 and 7 kills, and Liz White chipped in with 22 assists.

The Highlanders will look to get back into the win column tonight as they kick off conference play against the Centenary Cyclones in Hackettstown, NJ at 7:00 PM! Go Cairn!
