LANGHORNE, PA-  After four straight wins, the Highlanders struggled to overtake the Neumann Knights dropping both games Friday afternoon.
 
In game one Neumann led 3-0 after the first inning concluded, but the Highlanders quickly answered. Leadoff hitter Sony MacBain stole bunted her way onto first, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored when cleanup hitter Meagan Maratita roped a single to left field. Unfortunately, the Knights bats broke out in a major way in the second inning, as Neumann tallied 13 runs to take a firm grasp of the lead. The Highlanders were unable to overcome the substantial deficit, falling in game one. Game two followed a similar path as Neumann used a big second inning to defeat the Highlanders. For Cairn, middle of the lineup staples Haley Tinney and Meagan Maratita provided a large amount of Cairn's offensive punch with two and three hits respectively. The Highlanders will seek to bounce back against Lancaster Bible College Tuesday afternoon in an out of conference doubleheader.
