SCRANTON, PA- After an incredibly grueling stretch of their schedule, the Highlanders finally get a day of well-deserved rest after completing their match against Marywood.
Showing some signs of tired legs, the Highlanders struggled to keep up with Marywood in their fifth match in as many days, taking a couple games in doubles play and dropping the majority of games in singles play as well. Mariah Wilson and Ellie Santos continued their strong play. Wilson went the distance in her match, winning the first set 6-1, and taking four games in the second before losing 6-4 to force a third set. Despite a heroic effort, Wilson fell in the third 8-10 to drop her match. Santos also played a great game, winning the first 7-6 after a 7-5 win in the tiebreak. Worn out after such a tense first set, Santos fell in the next two, and the Highlanders dropped the match.Â
Cairn has replenished their spirits after a day of rest and will host PSU-Abington at 4:00 PM tomorrow afternoon.
