LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders took on the Cabrini Cavaliers in a CSAC matchup this afternoon, winning a doubles point and singles point, but eventually falling to the Cavaliers 2-7.
 
In doubles play the Highlanders continued to show great improvements as Maya Neal and Mariah Wilson took two games from Cabrini's #1 doubles team, and Kara Williams and Katelyn Loveless played great winning 3 games in the #2 match. In the afternoon's #3 doubles match the team of Joy Englehart and Ellie Santos played great tennis, winning their match with ease 8-4.
 
On the singles side, the Highlanders played a number of tight matches. Starting in the #2 singles match Mariah Wilson won four games in the first set, but eventually dropped the match, 6-4: 6-1. Rachel Smith and Kara Williams, who each won their matches against Cedar Crest over the weekend, played two more incredibly tightly contested matchups. Smith dropped the first set 6-2, but fought back in the second to tie the score at 4-4, before dropping the second 6-4 as well. Williams lost in the first set 2-6, but dominated the second set to win 6-4. With the score tied 1-1, Williams and Cabrini's Julia Lamarra headed to a tiebreaker that despite her best efforts Williams dropped 7-10. In #6 singles Charlotte Camp used her length and speed to overwhelm her opponent and take the Highlanders lone singles point of the day, 6-1: 6-2.
 
The Highlanders play again tomorrow at Neumann University.
