ASTON, PA- Mired in an incredibly tough stretch of their schedule the Highlanders summoned all of their effort and handily defeated the Neumann Knights 7-2 for their first CSAC win of the season.
 
The Highlanders started off strong in doubles play, as they took two points thanks to Mariah Wilson and Ellie Santos picking up their second doubles win of the season, while the team of Joy Englehart and Katelyn Loveless also picked up an 8-3 win for the Highlanders. In the #1 doubles match Maya Neal and Kara Williams played a great match but were unable to complete the doubles sweep losing 7-9.
 
In singles play, Mariah Wilson and Rachel Smith handled their opponents with relative ease as Wilson won 6-3, 6-2, and Smith dropped only one game to win her match 6-0, 6-1. Ellie Santos and Katelyn Loveless each picked up a win as well. After tough first sets, both Santos and Loveless picked up 6-4 wins, before skating to 6-1 wins in the second. Charlotte Camp outlasted her opponent to win 6-3, 6-4, and take the Highlanders seventh point of the day.
 
With no rest for the weary, the Highlanders will face off against Rosemont College this afternoon at 3:30 PM.
