GRANTHAM, PA- The Highlanders fought hard against the Messiah College Falcons in tonight's matchup, but were unable to achieve a victory, falling in three straight closely contested sets.

The Highlanders trailed early on in the first set until kills from Anton Deleon and
Micah Godshall sparked a four point run that brought Cairn storming back into the contest, 12-13. The first set remained relatively close until Messiah pulled ahead at the end and won the first set 25-19. Cairn struggled to find consistent defense in the second set, conceding a seven point run in the middle of the set that pushed the Falcons to a second set victory. Seeking to fight all the way back from a two set deficit, Cairn trailed 23-16 before a furious rally brought them all the way back to 22-24. Unfortunately, the Falcons held on in front of their home crowd, winning the third set 25-22 and the match 3-0.

The Highlanders were led by senior
Micah Godshall with 11 kills, while
Ben Norton also chipped in with 5 kills and 5 digs to assist Cairn's offensive and defensive efforts.

Cairn will be back in action on Wednesday night at home against the Neumann Knights.
