LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders hosted Wesley College in their last home game before Christmas break, fighting hard, but ultimately falling to the Wolverines 88-69.
In a fast-paced affair, the Highlanders struggled to keep up with the Wolverines formidable attack. Wesley jumped out to a 24-6 lead over the first 7 minutes, catching the Highlanders off guard and mounting a substantial lead. The Highlanders battled back, but still closed the first half trailing 46-31. Cairn embarked on their own run to start the second half, chipping away at the Wolverine lead and bringing it back to 5 points- but struggles with turnovers and the charity stripe kept the Highlanders from getting over the hump and closing the Wesley lead any further.
Julian Collazo lead Cairn with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals while the Highlanders bigs
Jordan Koczman and
Justin Dean each finished with 13 points apiece.
Cairn will take on PSU-Abington on Wednesday to close out their first semester slate.
