LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders hosted Fairleigh Dickinson Florham University Thursday night, defeating the Devils 84-75 in the non-conference matchup.
The Highlanders led for nearly the entire first half thanks to some stellar play from seniors
Josh Decker and
Jordan Koczman. Koczman patrolled the paint, showing an impressive touch around the basket and notching 11 points in the first half, while Decker caught fire from outside, splashing home four threes from way beyond the arc. Cairn stretched the lead as far as 20 points when sophomore Richie Rosas knocked down a corner three, but the Devils came storming back over the next seven minutes, bringing the game within three points with only three minutes on the clock. The Highlanders weathered the storm, regrouping and hitting clutch seven clutch free throws down the stretch to take their third win of the season and improve to 3-3 on the season.
Jordan Koczman led the Highlanders with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals,
Julian Collazo tallied 21 points and 7 rebounds, while freshman floor general
Jesse Rivera continued his steady play, chipping in across the board with 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.
The Highlanders will travel to Centenary for their first conference matchup of the season. Cairn split with the Cyclones last season, taking the first matchup 78-63 and losing on a last second three later in the season.
