LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders opened up their CSAC schedule Wednesday night, defeating the Clarks Summit University Defenders 75-46 for their second win of the season.
Â
The Highlanders took nearly two and a half minutes before making their first bucket; but
Kendra Stum's jumper opened the floodgates for the Highlanders as Cairn utilized their pressure defense to sweep past the Defenders and mount a 36-17 lead at the half. Clarks Summit came out hot after the break, knocking in four jumpers from beyond the arc to bring the game within 13. Fortunately, the Highlanders
Aigner Bookard and Charlottle Camp traded buckets over the next six minutes to stretch the lead back to 18 points. When the final whistle blew, the Highlanders officially tallied their first conference victory of the 2018-19 season.
Â
Dakota Hitchner led the Highlanders with 15 points on an efficient 4-6 performance from the field,
Kendra Stum tallied 12 points and 7 steals, and
Payton Emerick notched 6 points and 11 rebounds. Cairn will travel to Centenary University this weekend to take on the Cyclones in their second CSAC match of the season.
