HARRISBURG, PA- The Highlanders traveled to Penn State Harrisburg, dropping a close matchup with the Nittany Lions 56-66.
The Highlanders played close with PSU for much of the game, trailing each quarter by a point or two thanks to some excellent play from
Payton Emerick who notched 8 points in the first half. Cairn found their footing on the offensive end in the third quarter as
Dakota Hitchner repeatedly slashed to the rim, while also cashing in two three pointers. Unfortunately, the Highlanders were unable to overcome the 10 point first half deficit, falling to the Nittany Lions 56-66.
Hitchner tallied a season-high 17 points, Emerick notched 10 of her own, while
Kendra Stum finished with 6 points and 11 rebounds.
The Highlanders, who move to 1-1 on the season, will host Immaculata University at 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon.
