BRYN ATHYN, PA- The Highlanders took on the Bryn Athyn College Lions in a CSAC matchup Thursday night. Cairn rolled to their third straight conference victory, defeating the Lions 3-1 (25-23, 2-18, 19-25, 25-20).

The Highlanders played a stressful first set, passing the lead back and forth throughout the set. With the Highlanders holding a one point lead, Bryn Athyn tallied four straight points to take a 21-19 lead. Proving their resilience once more, the Highlanders scored 5 of the last 6 points thanks to two service aces from
Allison Barnes and a kill from
Lyntia Gwess, sandwiched by two Bryn Athyn errors. After a stressful first set, the Highlanders came back to earth in the second, trailing 14-6 early on. However, the Highlanders rattled off the next ten points to come storming back and retake the lead 16-14. With momentum fully on their side, Cairn easily completed the second set victory 25-18. Staked to a 2-0 lead, the Highlanders again fell to an early deficit in the third set. Despite their best efforts to come back, the Highlanders were unable to overtake the Lions in the third, losing 19-25. In the fourth set, the Highlanders bounced back once more, defeating Bryn Athyn with relative ease 25-20.

The Highlanders achieved their third CSAC victory on the back of 17 kills and 25 digs from Gwess, 10 kills and 15 digs from
Haley Sheehan, and 33 assists from
Liz White.

The Highlanders will take on Wilson College in CSAC play at 12:00 PM this Saturday.
