LANGHORNE, PA- After an excellent showing against the CSAC-leading Neumann Knights earlier this week, the Highlanders were able to finally put all the pieces together and defeat Mid-Atlantic Christian University, 67-47, in an out-of-conference matchup.

The Mustangs started out on fire, as guard Talethia Alexander made three straight three pointers to start the game and give Mid-Atlantic the early lead. The Highlanders battled back, matching baskets with the Mustangs over the first quarter and scoring 13 straight points to start the second and take a commanding lead into the half. The Highlanders used a powerful inside-out attack to break down the Mustang defense as Kaylah Cooper slashed to the rim, and
Charlotte Camp finished multiple jump shots to tally 8 points of her own. Additionally,
Payton Emerick snagged 9 rebounds to lead the Highlanders to a +7 rebounding advantage at the end of the first half.

Charlotte Camp started the second half much like the first, splashing home a jumper to start the second half on a high note. The Highlanders skated through the second half as Jana Goodman scored three straight baskets from the post, Jenna Krage drained two threes, and Camp tallied 6 points of her own.
Katie Bruner splashed home the Highlanders third three of the half to put the icing on Cairn's fifth win of the season.

Camp finished with 14 points and 6 rebounds, Kaylah Cooper tallied 10 points, Jana Goodman scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in only 11 minutes, and
Payton Emerick finished with 12 rebounds.

The Highlanders are off until next Wednesday, January 17
th, when they host Rosemont College at 6:00 PM.
