BALTIMORE, MD- The Cairn women's volleyball team hit the road traveling all the way to Maryland to face the resurgent Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland University.
The Gators are not historically a powerhouse, but have found something special this season and currently sit atop the CSAC with a record of 14-2, 2-0 in the conference. The Highlanders started out strong in the first set, scoring 4 straight points to bring the score close at 9-10. However, the Gators would show why they're atop the conference with an impressive run to take control and eventually win the first set 25-11. The Highlanders would have another strong performance in the 2nd set, hanging close thanks to the offensive performances of Bri Norton, and
Micaiah Randolph who each garnered multiple kills. The Highlanders would eventually fall 25-14, despite their much improved performance. The third set followed a similar pattern as the Highlanders battled hard early, but did drop the set and match, 25-11, 3-0.
Haley Sheehan led the Highlanders with 4 kills,
Kylie McCann hit a perfect 1.000 on the day, and
Liz White had 10 assists.
