Langhorne, PA - The Stevenson Mustangs controlled Friday's CVC match against the Cairn men's volleyball team and cruised to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-9, 25-15) victory to complete a sweep of the season series. The Highlanders collected 13 kills on the night against 35 for the visiting Mustangs.
Andy Willits led Cairn with seven kills in the match.

Stevenson opened the first set on an 8-3 run and did not look back for the rest of the set or the match. The Mustangs rolled to a 25-16 victory in the first set. Stevenson used a 7-1 run late in the set to open up a 24-14 lead, but
Micah Godshall collected a kill to end the run. Two points later Stevenson's Landon Shorts put home a kill to end the set and give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead.

The Mustangs started the second set in dominating fashion, rattling off 16 of the first 19 points to take a 16-3 lead. Cairn battled back with a 5-1 run to pull within nine at 17-8.
Andy Willits collected a service ace to highlight the run. The Mustangs closed out the set with an 8-1 streak to take a 2-0 lead after a 25-9 win in the set.

The Highlanders held control of the third set in the early going, leading 7-6 after a service error by the Mustangs, but Stevenson used an 8-1 run to urn the tides and take a 14-8 advantage. The Highlanders wisely took a timeout to regroup and after the breather won the next two points to close within four at 14-10. Unfortunately for Cairn, the Mustangs rolled off the next seven points and took a 21-10 lead.

Cairn then countered with a 5-2 run, but it was not enough as Stevenson pulled off the 25-15 victory in the set to complete the sweep 3-0 (25-16, 25-9, 25-16).

The loss drops the Highlanders to 3-22 on the season. Cairn will next take the floor on Tuesday when the Highlanders host Rutgers - Newark at 7:00 p.m. in the Mason Activity Center.
