LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders hosted Davis College seeking their first win of the young season, and thanks to limited turnovers and hard-nosed defense Cairn was able to achieve their first victory by a final score of 61-48.

The Highlanders played an excellent first half, forcing the visiting Falcons into numerous turnovers and working the ball around for wide open jump shots. Coming off an excellent game this weekend, Tori Stum continued her stellar play with 8 points in the first half; finishing numerous turnaround jumpers and unguardable hook shots. The Highlanders'
Aigner Bookard also played a huge part in the Highlanders first half lead, slashing to the basket for eight points of her own. So far this season the Highlanders have struggled with turnovers and rebounds, and in the first half Cairn was able to both outrebound the Falcons and limit themselves to only 4 turnovers.

Not to be outdone by her younger sister,
Kendra Stum came out hot in the second half splashing in 5 of her 6 attempts and making two free throws as well for a crucial 12 points. In addition to the strong showing by the aforementioned players,
Payton Emerick served as the bridge to the Highlanders first victory. The junior guard flew around the court, rebounding at a clip that belies her size, and finishing with her first double-double of the season, 13 points and a team-leading 10 rebounds. The Highlanders kept Davis College at arm's length the entire second half, coasting to their first win of the season by a final score of 61-48. The Highlanders played a truly excellent contest, setting the tone with their defense and running three point shooters off the line the entire game.

Cairn will host the Cabrini Cavaliers at 6:00 PM on Wednesday seeking their second straight victory. Â
