Highlanders Swept by Pacers in CSAC Match

Langhorne, PA - The Cairn women's volleyball team were swept by the Marywood Pacers on Wendesday night 3-0 (25-14, 25-9, 25-12). The Highlanders struggled to generate a consistent attack on the offensive end. In the end the Pacers proved to be too much for Cairn, as Marywood picked up their third CSAC victory of the year.

Haley Sheehan and Whitney Seidel led the Highlanders with six and four kills respectively on the evening.
 
In the match Marywood's setter, Danielle Deluio, picked up her 1,00th career assist. The junior entered the match with 999 assists in her career, and picked up number 1,00 early in the first set. On the evening DeIuio assisted on 26 of the Pacers 32 kills.
 
The Pacers hit better than .270 in all three sets with their first two sets besting the .333 mark. Cairn on the other hand hit under .100 in all three sets.
 
The trio of Ashley Wharton, Whitney Seidel, and Ashley Chamberlin picked up a total of three aces, with each server picking up one. Marywood's Jordan Vossler added to her team-high ace total with five on the evening – she now has 29 on the season.
 
On the evening Liz White dished out 14 assists while Ashley Wharton dug out 14 attacks, both leading the team in their respective categories. Wharton's 14 digs were also a match-high.
 
With the loss the Highlanders fall to 1-10 on the season and 0-5 in the CSAC. They will be in action two more times this week. First they will travel to Immaculata on Friday for a match at 7:00 p.m. before hosting Trinity Washington University to kick off a full-slate of events for the Highlanders on Homecoming. The match with Trinity Washington will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Mason Activity Center.
