Rookie Pitchers Shutout Pacers To End Season

Langhorne, PA – The Highlanders set a season-record for most wins with 19 total after collecting two wins over Marywood University on Saturday afternoon. Cairn defeated the Pacers with two shutouts of 3-0 and 7-0 en route to a 19-16 overall record this season.
 
Cairn also set a record for most CSAC wins in a season with five and finished with a 5-12 conference record. The Highlanders started out breaking records as Caleb Lang's first at-bat produced his 250th career hit. Lang's career total of 253 hits is good for third all-time of any player in the conference.
 
Daniel Morales started the first game on the mound for the Highlanders and held the Pacers to just two hits and one walk over the course of seven innings. Morales collected five strikeouts and improved to 4-3 overall this season.
 
Sam Dralle held the Pacers scoreless in game two of the doubleheader by pitching all seven innings and allowing four hits. Dralle picked up eight strikeouts in the win, finishing with a team-high 38 for the season.
 
Caleb Lang went 4-for-7 across both games with four RBI and two runs scored. Joey Nieves-Markee was also 4-for-7 and finished with three runs scored. With those numbers for the day, Nieves-Markee ended the season with 50 hits and 50 runs scored.
 
Aaron Takacs finished 3-for-6 on the day with two doubles and led the team this season in doubles with 12 total. Takacs also led the team for the year with 25 walks and an on-base percentage of .538.
 
As mentioned, Cairn finished the season with an overall record of 19-16 and conference record of 5-12. Marywood dropped to 10-23 overall and 1-16 in the conference with the losses.
 
CSAC end-of-season awards will be released this Tuesday, May 10.
