Langhorne, PA – Cairn University suffered two losses at the hands of the conference leaders, Neumann University, on Friday afternoon in softball action. The Highlanders lost 16-0 and 23-3 in the doubleheader with
Rachel Clark taking the losses from the circle.
Michaela Pembleton picked up the win in game one for Neumann while allowing two hits over five innings of play.
Katelynn Reiss and Katelyn Gibbs collected those two hits for the Highlanders in the game.
Taylor Naman got the win for the Knights in game two while allowing six hits and giving up three runs.
Jessica Rolo went 2-for-3 for the Highlanders, while Gibbs,
Katelyn Loveless, and
Katelyn Johnson scored runs.
Jessica Piccolo and
Katelyn Johnson had Cairn's only RBIs in the game.
Cairn dropped to 0-30 with the losses, while Neumann improved to 22-14 overall and 19-1 in the conference with the wins. The Highlanders will finish up their 2016 season tomorrow afternoon as they host Rosemont College for senior day at 3 p.m.
